These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of PFS HoneyStack software, the customer portal at pfshoneystack.io, and any related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.
PFS HoneyStack provides self-hosted honeypot software that you deploy on your own servers. We provide the software, license management, and support services. You are responsible for the infrastructure on which you run the software.
You may use HoneyStack only for lawful security research, threat intelligence, and network defence purposes on infrastructure you own or have explicit written permission to monitor. You must not:
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and license key. You must not share your license key — it is locked to the first server that validates it (machine fingerprint). If you need to migrate to a new server, contact support to reset the machine lock.
We reserve the right to revoke license keys that we reasonably believe are being shared or used in violation of these Terms, without refund.
Free tier: Available without a license key. Limited to 5 simultaneously active honeypot services. No time limit.
Pro and Enterprise: Billed monthly or annually as selected at purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
Cancellation: You may cancel at any time from your portal billing page. Access continues until the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time unless required by applicable consumer law.
Refunds: If you experience a technical issue that prevents you from using the service, contact us within 14 days of purchase and we will investigate and issue a refund if the issue is on our side.
Price changes: We will provide at least 30 days notice before changing subscription prices. Changes apply at your next renewal date.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment of applicable fees, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use HoneyStack on servers you control, for the number of nodes permitted by your tier.
This license does not include the right to access, copy, modify, or distribute the source code of HoneyStack.
HoneyStack, including its compiled binaries, documentation, dashboard, and all associated materials, is the intellectual property of PFS HoneyStack Ltd. The name "PFS HoneyStack" and associated logos are our trademarks.
The free tier software distributed under our standard license remains our property. Purchasing a subscription grants you a usage license, not ownership.
All honeypot traffic, attacker data, and captured network data remains on your servers — we have no access to it. Our collection and use of your account data is governed by our Privacy Policy.
You are the data controller for any personal data captured by your honeypot deployment. You are responsible for complying with applicable data protection laws in your jurisdiction.
We aim to maintain high availability of the license validation server and customer portal, but do not guarantee any specific uptime. HoneyStack includes a 72-hour grace period so your deployment continues working during any service interruption.
We may perform maintenance that temporarily makes the portal or license server unavailable. We will endeavour to schedule maintenance outside business hours and provide advance notice where possible.
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL DETECT ALL THREATS, PREVENT ALL ATTACKS, OR BE ERROR-FREE. YOUR USE OF THE SOFTWARE IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, PFS HONEYSTACK SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS OR DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING UNDER THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless PFS HoneyStack Ltd, its officers, and employees from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the service in violation of these Terms or applicable law.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with or without notice depending on the severity of the violation. If we terminate for cause you are not entitled to a refund.
You may close your account at any time. Account deletion requests are processed within 30 days.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
